(April 14) El Paso County Church Music Teacher Arrested On Suspicion Of Sexual Assault On 14-Year-Old | Colorado Springs, CO

A 58-year-old church music teacher and former school bus driver was arrested Thursday on suspicion of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust after an investigation by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office — but this isn't the first time Robert Henry Gordon has faced accusations of sexual misconduct with young boys.

On Monday, the parents of a 14-year-old boy reported inappropriate text messages between their son and Gordon, who is employed as a music teacher at First United Pentecostal Church in the Security area south of Colorado Springs.

(April 13) 4 Penobscot Nation Men Sue Catholic Diocese Over Alleged Clergy Sex Abuse | Indian Island, ME

Four members of the Penobscot Nation have sued the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland and Bishop Robert Deeley claiming they were sexually abused when they were children by three priests assigned to St. Ann Catholic Church on Indian Island.

They are the first lawsuits filed by Native Americans against the diocese since the statute was lifted that allowed decades-old abuse claims to go forward.

(April 13) Eight Former Clergymen In Dundalk Named In Maryland AG Report On Catholic Church Sex Abuse | MD

Multiple priests and clergymen in Dundalk were identified in a report from the state’s attorney general as sex offenders, who abused local children and were knowingly moved around throughout Baltimore’s archdiocese by its administration.

The Maryland Attorney General’s Office released its anticipated report on child sex abuse within the Archdiocese of Baltimore, last Wednesday. The report is based on a four-year investigation, where survivors are hoping the Catholic Church will see their day in court and be held responsible.

(April 13) Former Camp Counselor Convicted Of Sexually Assaulting A Child | Wautoma, WI

The first man charged as a result of the Wisconsin attorney general’s call for victims of clergy or faith leader abuse to come forward was convicted Wednesday.

Remington Nystrom, who served as a counselor at the Mt. Morris Camp and Retreat Center, pleaded no contest to second-degree sexual assault of a child. The plea avoided a trial which had been scheduled to start Wednesday.

(April 13) Mark Rivera Pleads Guilty To Felony Sexual Assault, Sentenced To 6 More Years

Mark Rivera, a former lay pastor at the center of several sexual abuse allegations in a conservative Anglican denomination, pled guilty to one count of felony criminal sexual assault on Wednesday, April 12. He was sentenced to 6 years in the department of corrections.

Last month, Rivera was sentenced to 15 years in prison in a separate felony child sexual abuse case. Today’s guilty plea is in connection to rape allegations made against him by his former neighbor, Joanna Rudenborg, who told Kane County police in December 2020 that Rivera had raped her in 2018 and in 2020.
