(November 16) Metro Detroit Church Youth Leader Charged For Alleged Child Sex Abuse | Mount Clemens, Mich.

On Tuesday evening, a 29-year-old Clinton Township man was arrested for allegedly engaging in criminal sexual acts with a minor, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.

Luis Mendoza was arraigned in 42-1 District Court Wednesday morning on charges of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct, and children - contributing to delinquency.

"Today's arraignment underscores the gravity of the alleged crimes committed against a vulnerable 15-year-old girl. We are committed to seeking justice for the victim, holding the accused accountable, and ensuring the safety of our community, particularly its most vulnerable members," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido in a written statement.

(November 15) Portland Church Faces $6M Lawsuit For Alleged Child Sex Abuse Committed In ’90s | PORTLAND, Ore.

The Vietnamese Christian Community Church in Southeast Portland faces a $6 million lawsuit filed by two men who say that the church’s former youth leader and choir teacher David Nguyen Dinh Duong sexually abused them as kids during the 1990s. The suit was filed months after Duong pleaded guilty to molesting the youngest of the two victims when they were 6 years old.

The abuse began in the early 90s when Duong allegedly began “grooming” the older of the two victims, referred to as “A.A” in court documents. According to the lawsuit, the sexual abuse continued into the late 90s, when Duong molested the second victim, identified as “B.B.”

(November 10) Olive Branch Pastor And Teacher Charged With Child Exploitation | Memphis, Tenn.

A now-suspended pastor and teacher from Olive Branch, Mississippi, is out of jail on bond after being arrested for child exploitation, according to a statement from Cedar View Baptist Church.

The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department said it arrested Kyle Hilleary, 30, on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023, and he was released on $250,000 bond. The sheriff’s department said the state Attorney General’s office is handling the investigation with assistance from DCSD and Olive Branch Police.
