(August 10) Woman Allegedly Forges Checks, Steals Thousands From Church | Memphis, TN

A woman is being charged with multiple crimes after allegedly forging checks and stealing over $14,000 from a church in May.

Rasheema Cannon was taken into custody Wednesday and charged with theft of property $10,000-$60,000, identity theft, and forgery $10,000-$60,000.

According to records, the bookkeeper for Farmington Presbyterian Church in Germantown filed an offense report on May 5 regarding a counterfeit or forgery.

(August 09) Houston Church Vehicle Stolen For Third Time, Impacts Meal Delivery To Hungry Children | Houston, TX

A vehicle was stolen from a church property for the third time in two years, leaving a community of hungry children potentially without food.

The white Ford van, used to deliver meals to school children and their families, was stolen from the City of Deliverance Worship Center on Sunday. Security cameras captured the moment two men walked onto the lot and broke into the van on the 6700 block of West Bellfort Avenue.

Pastor Carl Johnson, who has been serving his community for nearly 30 years, said the theft is a major setback for the church's at-risk program.

(August 08) Jefferson City Man Charged With Burglary At Church | MO

A Jefferson City man faces burglary charges after allegedly stealing from a local church.

Lyndell Dale was charged with first-degree burglary and stealing $750 or more. He was charged with being an out-of-state fugitive in a separate case.

According to a Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement, members of a local church called authorities on July 29 to report the burglary of around $12,000 worth of electronics. Surveillance video footage showed a male suspect checking several doors of the building before finding one that was propped open and removing electronics from the building.

(August 08) Rowan Deputies Arrest Man Accused Of Multiple Church Break-Ins Across Several Counties | Rowan County, NC

A 21-year-old accused of breaking into churches in several counties is in jail in Rowan County under a bond of $140,000.

Mykal Othnel David Charter is due in court on Tuesday morning to face charges that include two counts of breaking into a house a worship, possession of burglary tools, two counts of larceny after breaking and entering, obtaining property by false pretenses in Guilford Co., possession of stolen goods from Guilford Co., and fugitive extradition.

Charter was arrested in Rowan County on Monday morning. Deputies say he was arrested following a traffic stop on I-85, and was in possession of a keyboard believed to have been taken from a church in Rowan County.
