(June 23) Wanted: Suspects Caught On Camera Breaking Into & Stealing Cars At Memphis Church | Memphis TN

MPD officers responded to a call about the break-ins and theft at Brinkley Heights Baptist Church on Rosamond Ave. near The Heights area about 6:50 a.m. Tuesday.

Memphis Police are asking for the public’s help identifying the suspects caught on camera as they were breaking into cars and stealing one at a local church.

(June 19) ‘We Want Our Mary Back,’ Says Parish Staffer After Theft Of Statue From Ocean City Church’s Prayer Garden | Wilmington, DE

It’s possible it was a “Senior Week” prank, but Catholics in Ocean City are not laughing at the theft of a 3-foot tall Blessed Virgin Mary statue from the prayer garden outside Holy Savior Church.

“We want our Mary back,” said Donna Santoni, administrative assistant at the parish.

So do the police in the Maryland resort community.

A Facebook post from the city’s Police Department said Mary was reported missing June 13 and was likely stolen sometime the previous evening from church property. The statue is described as 3-feet tall and heavy, usually requiring more than one person to lift it.

(June 17) Suspects Wanted For Stolen Work Van Captured On Video | Richmond, VA

Third Precinct detectives are reaching out to the public for help in identifying three suspects, seen in this image, who stole an idling work van earlier in May.

The suspects drove the van across town and abandoned it in the Bellemeade neighborhood after stealing a computer tablet and other items.

(June 16) Priest with Greenfield ties denies stealing $100K from Granby church | Granby, MA

Tomasz Gorny, 43, pleaded not guilty in Eastern Hampshire District Court on Friday to charges of larceny over $1,200 after allegedly stealing more than $100,000 from the church where he was a priest.

According to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office, Gorny, a former parish priest with the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Granby, allegedly used church funds to fuel his own lifestyle, buying things like new clothes, wine and video games. He allegedly charged these expenses to credit cards that the Roman Catholic Diocese of Springfield ultimately had to pay.
