Jul 29, 2023(July 26) Deadly Shooting Leaves Man Dead In Atlanta's Hammond Park Neighborhood, Authorities Say | Atlanta
Police are investigating after a man was found shot to death in Atlanta's Hammond Park neighborhood early Wednesday morning.
Details on the shooting are limited at this time. However, APD said it happened around 6:20 a.m. at 2782 Metropolitan Parkway near Cleveland Avenue. The location is near Mount Zion Methodist Church.
Police arrived at the scene where they found a man shot to death.
Homicide investigators responded to the scene and are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

(July 26) 15-Year-Old Shot In Front Of Church, Ran Home | Memphis, TN
A teenager is injured after a shooting in front of a church on Tuesday.
A 15-year-old was struck in his left ankle, ran home, and his mother called the police.
Memphis Police Department responded to the call around 11 p.m.
The teen told officers he was walking from Vollintine Avenue when a black Infiniti pulled up beside him in front of the Friendship Baptist Church located at 1355 Vollintine Avenue.

The murder of 8-year-old Gretchen Harrington shook Marple Township, Pennsylvania, just outside Philadelphia. Authorities say the man recently confessed.
On. Aug. 15, 1975, 8-year-old Gretchen Harrington was walking to Bible camp in a township outside Philadelphia when she was kidnapped and killed.
On Monday, authorities said a man who had been the pastor of one of the camp's host churches has been arrested and charged with Harrington's murder.

The Port Arthur Police Department is investigating a shooting left a man injured and a church van damaged.
On July 23, 2023, at around 8:27 p.m., officers responded to the area of W. Thomas Blvd. and Grannis Ave. in reference to a shooting.
Dispatch told officers that a possible victim from the shooting had driven to the area of Motiva Enterprises XYZ gate located on HWY 82, according to a news release from the Port Arthur Police Department.
