(June 8) ‘I’ll Kill You’; Man Facing Charges Of Threatening To Shoot Parishioners Outside Of Bay Village Church After Mass Was Interrupted | Cleveland, OH

An Avon Lake man is accused of threatening to attack some churchgoers after a Mass at St. Raphael Catholic Church was interrupted over Memorial Day weekend, Bay Village police say.

William Ruda, 63, was charged Wednesday with two counts of aggravated menacing, according to Rocky River Municipal Court records. Cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer attempted to reach Ruda for comment Thursday.

(June 7) One Person Dead Following Shooting In Uniontown | PA

A man was shot and killed near a Uniontown church late Tuesday morning.

State police identified the victim as Anthony Jones, 38, of Uniontown, and said they’ve identified a person of interest in his death. Trooper Forrest Allison said police believe Jones knew the person who killed him.

Fayette County District Attorney Rich Bower declined to release any additional details.

“It’s an ongoing investigation,” he said.

(June 5) Madison church Usher Attacked In Parking Lot Sunday Morning | Nashville, TN

Metro Nashville Police say that a 72-year-old church usher was attacked Sunday morning at Cornerstone Church on Old Hickory Boulevard.

The usher was in the parking lot of the church around 6:45 a.m. and headed toward the church. MNPD says that the usher reported a stranger ran up to him, said nothing, then began to hit him in the head with a pistol. The man fought back against the stranger and they dropped the gun. The usher took the opportunity to pick the gun from the ground and toss it into his car to keep it from the stranger.

(June 4) UPDATE: Male Found Shot Outside NJ Church | NJ

Police are investigating a shooting that injured a male found outside a church in NJ Saturday afternoon.
Winslow Township Police were dispatched to the First Baptist Church located in the 200 block of New Brooklyn Road shortly before 3:30 p.m.
When cops arrived, they requested EMS and a Medivac helicopter in a rush after they found the victim on the steps of the house of worship suffering a bullet wound to his chest.

(June 2) $100K Bond Set For Father Of 7 Accused Of Shooting At NW Houston Church Daycare Filled With Babies | Houston, TX

A man has been arrested after being caught on surveillance camera shooting at the windows of a church daycare in northwest Houston while at least eight babies were inside the room, according to the church’s pastor.

Juan Ruben Silva Ortiz, 43, is charged with felony terroristic threat.

Surveillance video from Advent Lutheran Church on Pinemont Drive showed him sitting on a second-floor apartment balcony firing toward the church on May 24, according to court documents.

It’s not the first time the church has been hit.
