(December 08) Vandals Attack Statues At Albury Churches Woodworking Accident

Religious statues have been decapitated and a painting of Jesus defaced in separate attacks on two churches in the heart of Albury. The attacks on the neighbouring churches are believed to have occurred sometime between Monday night and the early hours of Tuesday this week.

Fr Henry Ibe of St Patrick’s Church found his parish’s prized statue of the Virgin Mary smashed up in the church yard on Monday night.

(December 7) Gilbert Woman Arrested For Stealing From Churches With Child In Tow

A Gilbert woman is accused of stealing from four Lexington County churches in November. Leslie Reese, 42, is charged with four counts of third-degree burglary along with a single count of unlawful conduct toward a child, according to a press release from the county Sheriff’s Department.

According to the release, Reese is charged with unlawful conduct toward a child because her child accompanied her during the break-ins.

(December 7) Investigation Of Police Shooting At Wenatchee Church Sent To Prosecutor

WENATCHEE — The investigation into a fatal police shooting in May outside a Wenatchee church has been forwarded to the Chelan County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review and to determine whether to file charges against three officers involved in the shooting.

Alexander J. White, 36, was killed May 7 by Wenatchee police officers who responded to the Living Hope Community Church after they received reports that White was firing a gun into the church at the corner of Chelan Avenue and Palouse Street.

(December 6) Florida Man Caught Having Sex With Dog Vandalizes Church, Attempts Car Theft; Arrested

A Florida man engaged in bestiality with a dog in Clearwater city making no effort to hide it was caught in the act by a group of people Sunday. When confronted, Chad Mason, 36, fled from the scene and caused chaos in the area around.

The man was nabbed after officers responded to a call from an apartment complex in the 2600 block of McMullen Booth Road around 4:30 p.m. ET, Fox13 reported.

(December 5) Man Found Dead Near Sacramento Church, Police Say

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KTXL) — Police are investigating a death at a church in Sacramento, the Sacramento Police Department said to FOX 40 News. Officers responded Sunday afternoon around 12:15 p.m. to the 7600 block of Amherst Street, where an adult man had been found dead. 

“The investigation remains active and the circumstances of what occurred remain under investigation,” police said.

(December 4) Carbon Monoxide Leak At Chicago Church Sends 12 To Hospitals

CHICAGO (AP) — Twelve people were hospitalized after a carbon monoxide leak at a church on Chicago's South Side, fire officials said. The Chicago Fire Department said that just after 1 p.m. it was called to the New Philadelphia Church for reports of a gas smell.

When fire crews arrived at the church, they measured the air and found high levels of carbon monoxide.

Those injured were taken to two hospitals in good to serious condition, firefighters said.

(December 3) Michigan Priest Charged With Stealing $830000 From Retired Clergy

DEWITT, Michigan — A Catholic priest is accused of stealing more than $800,000 from three retired priests in the Lansing, Michigan, diocese. Father David Rosenberg was arraigned Thursday on embezzlement charges and other crimes in Clinton County, north of Lansing, the attorney general’s office said.

Rosenberg, 70, was director of the St. Francis Retreat Center in DeWitt for six years until he retired from active ministry in 2021. He’s accused of stealing approximately $830,000 from three priests who lived at the center and using the money to fund his own foundation, prosecutors said. Two of the priests now are deceased.

(December 2) Man Shot And Killed By Mariposa County Deputies Identified

MARIPOSA COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- Authorities have identified a suspect who was shot and killed by Mariposa County sheriff's deputies on Wednesday morning. Officials with the sheriff's office say 24-year-old Joshua Antelope was killed in a shooting around 9 a.m. on Frank Wilson Road near First Baptist Church/School. 

After arriving in the area, deputies say they found Antelope holding a knife.

Investigators say Antelope was not listening to deputies commands and continued to walk towards them.
