Norfolk police are searching for a suspect they say burglarized a church.

According to police, officers responded on Monday around 11:20 p.m. for a report of a man breaking into the Crossroads Church, located at 1127 Surrey Crescent.

(April 13) Salem Woman On Probation For Theft From Derry Presbyterian Church Now Accused Of theft From Methodist Church | Derry, PA

A woman on probation for stealing $20,000 from a Derry Borough Presbyterian church in 2017 and 2018 was arrested this week on accusations she racked up $5,560 in personal expenses on a credit card belonging to another borough church.

Teri Sauers, 39, of Salem was working as a secretary at Derry First United Methodist Church when she was instructed Aug. 9 to close a credit card account belonging to the church, according to court papers. The card had a zero balance at the time.

(April 13) N.H. Pastor Pleads Guilty To Stealing $130,000 In Church Money | Concord, NH

An executive pastor pleaded guilty to stealing $130,000 from a Barrington Church in federal court Wednesday.

Gregory Neal of Rochester oversaw the operations of Journey Baptist Church, which included managing church finances. Between January 2017 and March 2020, he used church credit and debit cards to pay off his own gambling debt and made unauthorized purchases “for his own personal benefit,” according to an announcement by U.S. Attorney Jane E. Young.

Court documents detail his spending of nearly $1,000 through Ticketmaster as well as purchases at Home Depot, Walmart, and other retail stores.

(April 13) Man Breaks Into Marion County Church, Steals $100 In Food | Citra, FL

A 35-year-old Citra man was arrested by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office after he was accused of breaking into the community services building of a local church and stealing food.

On Saturday, April 8, an MCSO deputy responded to Seventh-Day Adventist Church located at 17200 N U.S. Highway 301 in Citra in reference to a burglary that was in progress. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the reportee who advised that a man, later identified as Kevin Demon Wilkerson, was possibly inside the building without permission, according to the arrest report.

(April 12) Man Accused Of Stealing $40,000 Of Items From Sharon Church | Sharon, PA

A preliminary hearing is scheduled Friday for a Farrell man accused of stealing more than $40,000 worth of items, including stained glass windows, from a Sharon church.

John Thomas Jackson Sr., 63, of 1106 Beechwood Ave., is charged with burglary, institutional vandalism, theft, and trespass.

According to a police criminal complaint, Jackson cased the Temple of Praise Church of God in Christ, 170 N. Sharpsville Ave., before removing multiple stained glass windows, kitchen appliances, furniture, and recyclable scrap metals in March.
